Celebrating 25 years of impact, Los Niños Primero launches its first U.S.-Finland education partnership with Lumo Education to center children, families, and culture in learning.

What Makes a Learning Experience Truly Transformative?

For 25 years, Los Niños Primero has redefined what education can be—not through theory, but through the lived experiences of Latino children, families, and educators in metro Atlanta. We’ve witnessed transformation in the laughter of learning, the pride of cultural identity, and the trust that grows when communities are authentically engaged.

Now, we step into our next bold chapter: an international education partnership with Finland’s Lumo Education, built on shared values and a global-local vision for the future of learning.

A Shared Vision Across Continents

Our exploration of Finland’s globally acclaimed education system wasn’t just inspired by its academic outcomes—it was driven by how those outcomes are achieved:

A play-based, child-centered approach

A deep respect for teachers as creative leaders

Learning environments that are joyful, relational, and culturally anchored

These are the guiding principles of Lumo Education, based in Helsinki. Their values felt instantly familiar—because they mirror our own.

At Los Niños Primero, we’ve always grounded our bilingual, family-focused programs in the rich heritage of Atlanta’s Latino community. We know that when children see themselves in the curriculum, when parents are empowered as co-educators, and when joy is prioritized, meaningful learning follows.

Celebrating 25 Years of Impact—And a Historic First

To mark our 25th anniversary, we’re thrilled to announce a first-of-its-kind international collaboration with Lumo Education. This is Lumo’s inaugural partnership in the United States—and it begins here in Atlanta.

Together, we aim to reimagine what education can be when it centers the whole child, the whole family, and the whole community.

This groundbreaking initiative will:

  • Introduce innovative, play-based practices tailored for bilingual, multicultural classrooms
  • Support teachers as empowered, creative leaders
  • Embrace parents as essential partners in a child’s educational journey
  • Celebrate cultural identity and joyful learning from day one

You’re Invited: Global Learning, Local Impact

To launch this milestone collaboration, we’re hosting an exclusive conversation with international and local leaders in education:

🌍 Global Learning, Local Impact: A Panel Discussion

📅 Thursday, June 12, 2025 🕣 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.📍 Mount Vernon School (Upper School), Sandy Springs, GA🔒 Private, invitation-only event

This panel will explore how child-centered, culturally rooted education can transform classrooms—and communities—across borders.

This Is More Than a Model—It’s a Movement

We believe education should celebrate—not erase—identity. This collaboration is about more than curriculum or pedagogy. It’s about creating classrooms where Latino children are seen, heard, and empowered. Where cultural heritage is not only acknowledged but centered. Where learning is a celebration of who we are—and who we can become.

Backed by 25 years of trusted relationships and community impact, Los Niños Primero brings deep local expertise. Lumo brings a globally tested, joy-infused model of whole-child education. Together, we’re building something that honors both tradition and innovation.
